Investigators made the arrests on Wednesday, and seized more than $26,000 worth of drugs and cash following a six-week investigation. Shane Hilmoe, 56, has been charged with trafficking a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, and two counts of possession of proceeds of crime. Nathan Hilmoe, 23, has been charged with six counts of trafficking a controlled substance and possession of proceeds of crime. Ashley Gackle, who appeared in the dock at Medicine Hat Provincial Court on Tuesday before taking the stand himself, claimed he felt pressured into pleading guilty to possessing methamphetamine for the purposes of trafficking without understanding the sentencing implications.
